Do you want to become an advocate in the anti-violence movement? Register for our 40-Hour Domestic Violence (DV) Training, which is a comprehensive overview of basic concepts to train participants to be advocates and volunteers in the field of domestic violence. 40-Hour DV training is required for advocates to work directly with survivors, including volunteers. Participants must be 18+ to register. This training certified by the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals (ICDVP).

TOPICS INCLUDE: Foundations & History of Domestic Violence, Safety Planning and Crisis Intervention, Child Abuse & Teen Dating Violence, Elder Abuse, Legal Advocacy, Working with diverse populations, and More!

FORMAT: This training is 20 hours in-person and 20 hours self-paced online modules. Online modules will be sent to participants prior to the in person session and must be completed to receive your certificate. Self-Paced Online Modules will be sent prior to in-person training and must be completed to receive your certificate. The access link to online training modules will be sent out prior to in person training and must be completed by June 21st, 2025.

IN-PERSON TRAINING SESSIONS:

  • Tuesday, June 3 | 1 - 5PM

  • Thursday, June 5 | 1 - 5PM

  • Saturday, June 7 | 10AM - 4PM

  • Monday, June 9 | 1 - 5PM

  • Wednesday, June 11 | 1 - 5PM

TRAINING FEE: $75 Adults | $65 Students
Participants may be eligible for reimbursement with volunteer commitment:

  • Hotline duty 5PM - 9AM on weekdays for 6 consecutive months (Consecutive = 2 weeks/month)

  • Hotline duty 5PM Fridays - 9AM Mondays for 3 consecutive months (Consecutive = 1 weekend/month)
