미국 정부는 4월을 공식적으로 ‘성폭력 인식 및 예방의 달 (Sexual Assault Awareness Month, SAAM)’ 로 지정하고, 성폭력의 위험성을 알리고 예방하는 다양한 프로그램을 진행하고 있습니다. 올 해도 KAN-WIN과 시카고지역한인교회협의회 공동 주관으로 '성폭력 예방 교사 교육'을 진행합니다.
아동 성폭력의 개념과 양상, 관련 법안과 대처방법을 배움으로 교사로서 학생들을 옹호하고 교사 자신을 지킬 수 있습니다. 또한, ’아동 학대 의무 신고’에 관해 배움으로, 가정폭력이 자녀에게 미치는 영향을 인식하고, 교사로서 의무 신고자의 역할을 다할 수 있도록 돕고자 합니다. 학생들을 가까이에서 지도하는 교사로서, 예방교육의 이수는 한인 지역 사회를 보다 안전한 공간 으로 세워나가는 발판이 됩니다.
April is "Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)" and KAN-WIN is hosting various programming to prevent sexual violence in our communites. KAN-WIN will be conducting 'Sexual Violence Prevention training for Teachers' co-hosted by The Korean Churches Federation of Greater Chicago. This education will help participants understand the dynamics of sexual violence, understanding survivor's rights, and developing listening skills to advocate for students. In addition, by learning about 'Mandatory Reporting Child Abuse', we will be able to recognize the impact of domestic violence on our children and fulfill the role of mandatory reporter as a teacher. We hope it will be a meaningful time to recognize the importance of creating healthy relationships in the Korean community and build a safe space for our children.
